Hey guys,

So i am craving sausages...... is pork a complete NO? or if i was to find sausages that are low in fat it that ok to eat??

sooo.... i found these sausages online http://www.joessausages.co.uk/Results3.asp?Category=13

they are all under 3% fat and look fine in terms of fat carbs etc, although i cant find if they have any extra added ingredients.

What do you reckon? should i just stay well clear?

The thought of sausages and cauliflower mash is sounding great for tomorrow! :D

I have eaten similar sausages in cruise phase and not found them to be a problem for weight loss. I do find them a bit rubbery , but that is just personal taste.

My "liberal" take on this is try it out, if it doesn't work you'll notice it soon enough. But pork is "officially" out of bounds.

I haven't been able to find any sausages low enough in carbs. All sausages are packed out with some cereal or other.

I have found the Riverway Thick Pork Sausages have the lowest carb count I have ever seen for a sausage - 0.5g each. But you can only get them from Costco. The cumberland ones made by Riverway are sold in JS and Tescos have a higher count but still lower than most other kinds.

Hey,

There is a brand called Debbie and Andrews (sold in Tesco in the UK) They do some chipolata sausages that are wheat, dairy and gluten free and the pork content is 97% (lean pork too apparantly) Not had them on Dukan but was considering it for a treat / change as I've had them pre-Dukan and they are delish! As with all things Dukan they are not the cheapest, but having said that they are by no means the most pricy either...

I have low fat pork sausages on occasion. I just try and find ones with as little added rusk/cerial as possible. The ones I have in my freezer are something like 95% pork and under 10% fat, and I usually have 2 at a time.

I have got to the point where I think some of the rules for this diet are silly and inconsistent, so if I eat sausages and lose weight for the week it obviously works for me and I shouldn't deny myself an occasional treat. I'm more worried about the 2 whole onions (dry 'fried') I have with the sausages becasue onions are full of sugar!

I once had six Quorn sausages in a day and still lost weight...

They weren't as nice as a good juicy pork sausage but they weren't bad! I had three dipped in eggs and the other three dipped in a home made Dukan mayonnaise and thoroughly enjoyed them!
I'll have to track down the Debbie & Andrews ones now too.
